"What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured." --Kurt Vonnegut

Stewardship means being good managers of the resources that we have earned and that life has given us. As good stewards we know that when we choose to spend our time or money there are always opportunities foregone. We consider our choices and we use our resources in keeping with our values and life mission.

Stewardship means that we weigh not only our own needs and desires but those of other people and future generations. We realize that none of us is a self-made person and that part of what we own is wealth that flows from others through us. We appreciate the natural resources, societal resources and financial resources that have been handed down to us by our ancestors and we are conscious of our own legacy.

At The Search, we find a community of people passionately pursuing a call to be in community around the way of Jesus Christ. What we appreciate about The Search comes via faithfully giving people, some who attend and some who don't: but all who are fervently praying that we find ways to be a community centered on LOVE and CARE, not loneliness. I hope that in the next 6 weeks, you will help us build on our burgeoning legacy by creating a stable, alternative worshipping community. What will you do with your life? your faith? your church?

Peace and Joy I'm sending to you....

I Love the movie Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion. Not only does it remind me of my sister (who watches it with me and we laugh and laugh), but I can't hear the name of the movie without thinking of a certain musical artist. That subtle segue leads me to Cyndi Lauper and her fiery red hair. I think that Cyndi taught us a lot from her music, she really did. She taught us that girls just want to have fun, that money changes everything, and that if you're lost you can look and you will find me, time after time. If you watch her video, you could take this as a song from one person to another, someone who loves the other person so much they will be there; this person will care for you, so that even if you are far away and you fall, they promise to catch you, time after time.

Time means a lot of things to a lot of people. But to have someone say that they will spend their 'time' on you, what does that mean? To think that you are cared for enough that someone will give of their expensive time to catch or find you is fascinating. Who does it remind you of? Whose time do you treasure, and who do you know that treasures yours? We know that time is of the essence, that it is valuable, and not to be 'wasted;' but I want to challenge you to recognize that your time is valued by someone, and that someone out there also values yours - time after time.
