Rev. Dr. Suzanne Castle is a self-professed "Worship Junkie" who loves to spend her time worshipping the Living God.
She is ordained in the Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ), and a Gen-Xer who is extremely passionate about communion and emerging trends in worship. She received her doctorate in liturgical studies and earned her M Div degree from Claremont School of Theology in Claremont, California in May of 2001, where she specialized in worship studies. She earned undergraduate degrees from West Texas State University (A & M) in Musical Theatre and Elementary Education.
Suzanne has authored articles and devotional material, and has recently completed a book on postmodern worship in mainline traditions. She has served the greater church community as a Worship Consultant and as a featured workshop leader and keynote speaker. She has also had the honor of serving in worship planning for Regional Assemblies and two General Assemblies with the Christian Church, (D.O.C.). Rev. Castle-Rolen also participated in The Institute for Worship Studies, where she was granted a Certificate of Worship Studies. She has served churches in California, Florida and Texas. She has assisted with the planting of two DOC churches as well.
Suzanne's past has contributed greatly to her work as an "artist for God". She is a former professional actress and dancer, and has served a number of congregations where she was tasked to "revitalize" worship through drama, dance, liturgical art, and music. Her primary emphasis includes the recapturing of meaningful worship, including the use of ancient traditions fused with media forms.
Suzanne enjoys spending time with her two adopted daughters—Lizzie and Ava. They love to play with their boxer Gidget, while enjoying their home in Ft. Worth. Suzanne delights in finding time to dance, act and sing, and lives to watch the series 24. Rev. Dr. Castle is currently serving University Christian Church in Ft. Worth, where she is the Associate Minister for THE SEARCH (an emergent worshipping community) and Campus Ministries.
She is a Capricorn; very bossy; and loves to eat strawberry shortcake. She is easily bribed with iTunes gift cards and has been the proud owner of an Apple computer since 1984. And one day, her goal is give everyone glitter, her favorite substance on earth!
